DJJ subsidiary wins local business award

River Metals Recycling is honored by the Newport, Kentucky, Business Association.

The River Metals Recycling (RMR) subsidiary of the David J. Joseph Co., Cincinnati, has been honored by a regional business association as its 2015 Business of the Year.

According to an online report from the Northern Kentucky Tribune, RMR Newport received the honor from the Newport Business Association.

The RMR Newport facility was honored by the association for its “significant contributions to the community, including working with the Fire and Police Departments for emergency response training, donations to the city and park system, and volunteer efforts,” according to the Tribune report. RMR competed with more than 400 businesses in the region for the honor, adds the article.

DJJ’s RMR subsidiary operates nine scrap recycling facilities in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana, including the Newport location, which has an auto shredding plant.
