Detroit Edge Tool Co. has made several changes to its organizational hierarchy, all involving the Ebbing family, which has owned and managed the firm through five generations.
“After 40 years of service and 20 years of leading the Detroit Edge Tool Co. as one of the primary manufacturers of mobile and stationary shear blades to the recycling industry, Ray and John Ebbing are leaving the company to enjoy their well-deserved retirements,” the company states.
According to the Roseville, Michigan-based company, Ray and John Ebbing represented the fourth generation of family ownership.
Effective immediately, Pat Ebbing has been promoted to president and co-owner, Johnny Ebbing has been promoted to vice president of manufacturing and co-owner and Thomas Ebbing has joined the business as of last November as an estimator.
In addition to those promotions, Justin Vernick has been promoted to sales manager and industry veteran Dave Blount has been promoted to shear blade product manager.
“The company is excited about the appointments and looking forward to continued growth in the years ahead,” says Detroit Edge Tool, which has roots tracing back to 1885. The company supplies shear knives, machine knives, wear plates and liners, machine ways and rails, flame hardening, surface grinding and large CNC machining globally.
