The Dayton Power and Light Co. (DP&L), Marysville, Ohio, is resuming its program to offer rebates for recycling inefficient appliances.
DP&L says it will rebate customers $50 for each working refrigerator or freezer between 10 and 30 cubic feet and $20 on single-room air conditioners and dehumidifiers.
“DP&L recognizes how much our customers value the convenience of our appliance recycling program and the benefit it provides to the environment,” says DP&L President and CEO Tom Raga. “We are pleased to offer the program and to expand it to include smaller appliances.”
DP&L’s rebate program for recycling appliances is part of its ongoing energy efficiency efforts for customers, which also include rebates on new heat pumps and air conditioners, discounts on energy-efficient lighting and rebates for business customers.
Additionally, DP&L is partnering with Minneapolis-based ARCA Inc. ARCA’s regional recycling centers salvage materials in older appliances while safely handling and eliminating environmentally damaging substances.
