Dash Recycled Rubber Products, a subsidiary of Dash Multi-Corp Inc., acquired the crumb rubber processing facility of Welch Products Inc. The acquisition was completed Oct. 31st.
The facility is located in Macon, Mo. The plant is around 40,000 square feet. Plans call for the facility to take in old tires and convert them into fine crumb rubber that will then be sold to end producers, including Welch Products.
"This plant in Macon provides us with a centrally located facility with good equipment and well-trained personnel to further expand and meet the needs of our customers," said Marvin Wool, chairman of Dash, in a statement. "This business also provides a substantial benefit by the elimination of waste tires in a manner that is friendly to the environment."
Welch will continue to own a second building in Macon for future expansion.
The new facility brings to three the number of rubber recycling subsidiaries Dash Multi-Corp owns. The company operates a similar facility in Georgia, while its other rubber recycling facility, RB Rubber, takes in old tires, processes the material into crumb rubber and then makes the finished product.
