CXtec Launches IT Asset Recovery Program

Provider of certified pre-owned and new data networking and voice equipment adds asset recovery to service offering.

CXtec, the Syracuse, N.Y.-based provider of certified pre-owned and new data networking and voice equipment, has launched LifecyclExpress, an IT asset recovery program that includes IT asset disposal and technology remarketing.

Through LifecyclExpress, CXtec says it will discard or recycle unwanted IT equipment in a legal, secure and environmentally responsible manner.
“Talking to our customers, we learned there was a need for a more comprehensive asset recovery program,” says Frank Kobuszewski, vice president of CXtec Technology Solutions Group. “We need to help them not only sell equipment that still may have value, but also properly dispose of unwanted e-waste with no value.” He adds, “By offering both remarketing and disposal options, we can help customers reduce their risk and increase their bottom line by offering cash or credit on an account for a wide variety of technology equipment.”
CXtec’s LifecyclExpress offerings include data sanitization and destruction.
CXtec is a member of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) and of the Investment Recovery Association. CXtec’s technology certification and distribution center is a Recycling Industries Operating Standard- (RIOS-) member facility, meaning that it intends to become RIOS certified.
LifecyclExpress IT asset disposal service offers companies a range of services, including the Green Cube recycling container, which can fit up to 1,000 pounds of electronic scrap in a single box. The Green Cube is available in two sizes. Customers receive a certificate of recycling and/or data destruction that ensures asset security, according to CXtec. For electronic scrap exceeding 1,000 pounds, LifecyclExpress offers nationwide asset pick up and recycling in accordance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency guidelines, the company says.
For IT assets that have no working value to one company but may be viable for another company, LifecyclExpress will purchase the equipment, clean, refurbish and recertify it before it re-enters the marketplace as an Equal2new solution, which is CXtec’s brand of certified pre-owned refurbished network and voice hardware.
Before receiving Equal2new certification, equipment undergoes a refurbishing process at CXtec’s 70,000-square-foot technology certification and distribution center in Syracuse. The process includes diagnostic inspection, refurbishing, testing and shipping in an electrostatic discharge-protected, dust-free environment.
