Curbside Value Partnership Launches Revamped Web site

RecycleCurbside.org undergoes a redesign to include fresh content and interactive features.

The Curbside Value Partnership (CVP) has launched the organization’s newly revamped Web site, www.RecycleCurbside.org. The new site is designed to provide visitors with a more interactive experience as well as provide easier access to CVP’s suite of education tools and templates.

The new site incorporates a section dedicated to recycling professionals that includes additional best practice examples from communities across the country, enhanced education resources featuring links to CVP’s recycling education tools, a general public section for non-recycling professionals who wish to learn how to become diligent recyclers and a section for other industries and/or organizations interested in joining the CVP mission.

For the past several years CVP has worked with communities to help increase participation in their curbside recycling programs. One of CVP’s key findings is that the Web and an effective, well-designed Web site can help increase the effectiveness of any recycling education campaign, the organization says.  It was with that in mind that CVP decided to overhaul the site.

In an effort to increase the interactivity of the new site, CVP incorporated several new elements. The site features a monthly poll to help the program stay more connected with the recycling community and the issues they face. Another new feature of the site is the CVP’s first blog. The blog will address a wide range of topics related to building successful curbside recycling programs. Each month will debut a new topic written by experts in the recycling industry. Site users will have the opportunity to post their thoughts on the blog topic as well.

RecycleCurbside.org has also incorporated additional user-feedback mechanisms in the form of a comment box on each page of the site as well as a “Was this content helpful” survey. Both tools are meant to provide site users the opportunity to submit direct feedback on the value of the information on the site.
