Cumberland Engineering, an equipment manufacturer based in South Attleboro, Mass., has introduced its CLS 600+ Light Duty Single-Shaft Shredder Series.
According to the company, the new series is designed for processing injection and extrusion mold startup purge with a direct-drive, shredder-style rotor. The company adds that the CLS 600+ reduces startup purge and flash to less than 4-inch particles that can then be granulated by a beside-the-press granulator.
According to Cumberland, additional features of the product include:
· Standard hardened rotors with replaceable cutters and cutter seats designed for processing the thicker sections of startup purge and blow molding flash
· Low-speed rotor (72 rpm) to transmit high-cutting torque for tough applications, while also reducing noise levels
· Standard rotor fabricated using abrasion-resistant steel
· Double-walled manual feed hoppers for feeding through the front, back or side of the machine
· Feed opening of 21.7 inches by 19.3 inches
