Consolidated Scrap Resources, Inc., with yards in Harrisburg and York, PA, has commissioned an extensive upgrade to its nonferrous separating system on the 4000 HP, 98/104 shredder it operates at its Harrisburg yard.
The upgrade was purchased from Metal Shredding Solutions, San Antonio, TX, and installed this past fall.
The new equipment, which includes a new double-deck Bivitec 1900 x 7M, pre-ferrous magnetic separator, 80" wide "fines" Steinert eddy current, two 80" wide Steinert ISS metal poppers, motor control center, 8 conveyors, and associated platforms and enclosures, supplements the two existing eddy-current machines that CSR operates.
The on-line system design allows CSR to maximize its nonferrous metal recovery and reduce maintenance and manpower costs.
