The California Resource Recovery Association announced the scheduling of a College & University Recycling Workshop for Feb. 21. The title of the Workshop is Making It To 50%. The workshop is being presented by Santa Monica College in association with the California Collegiate Recycling Council, a technical council of CRRA.
The daylong workshop will be a valuable
opportunity for college and university recycling coordinators and facility management directors to share ideas and experiences in addition to hearing presentations by recycling professionals from schools throughout the state.
Workshop sessions will cover topics ranging from handling materials such as obsolete electronics, construction and demolition waste and discarded food management to soliciting grants for designing collection programs based on unique campus conditions.
In addition to formal presentations, there will also be a roundtable discussion and a tour of Santa Monica College’s Recycling Program, which includes a state-of-the-art vermi-composting system for discarded food. The workshop will start off with a morning presentation by Dr. William Selby, of the college’s Environmental and Urban Studies Program.
To register for the workshop, call (916) 441-2772, visit www.crra.com or for workshop details, contact Madeline Brodie at (310) 434 8726 or brodie_madeline@smc.edu.Latest from Recycling Today
