Cronimet renames its sludge treatment subsidiary

Former Destimet Green Services subsidiary renamed to Cronimet Envirotec GmbH.

Karlsruhe, Germany-based Cronimet Holding GmbH has changed the name of its Destimet Green Services GmbH subsidiary to Cronimet Envirotec GmbH, effective January 2017.

Cronimet describes the newly named subsidiary as “the technology leader in the vacuum-thermal treatment of metal turnings, slurry and industrial sludge.” Cronimet Holding GmbH has been the sole shareholder of the Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Germany-based subsidiary since 2015. In a news release carrying the announcement, Cronimet says, “The reason for the change of name is the identification with the Cronimet brand.”

“Together with the Cronimet Group, we are opening up the network of a world market leader in the field of secondary raw materials for us,” says Filipe Costa, managing director of Cronimet Envirotec GmbH. “We develop individual solutions and stand as a reliable and innovative partner at the side of our customers.”

Cronimet Envirotec focuses on the treatment of waste sludge from the metals and oil industries, using what it calls a patented vacuum distillation method that “enables an environmentally friendly and sustainable separation of substances without their chemical changes, and ensures a holistic utilization along the value chain.”

The Cronimet Group focuses on the processing and sale of stainless steel scrap, ferroalloys and primary metals, supplying raw materials for the stainless steel industry. The company has more than 5,000 employees and more than 60 locations worldwide.
