O’Brien Recycling Corp., established in 1997, is a full-service scrap metal recycler handling predominantly prompt industrial scrap. The agreement calls for Cozzi to “manage all sales initiatives and activities related to O’Brien’s ferrous scrap metal business,” according to a news release from the Cozzi Group.
Says Cozzi Consulting Group partner Frank Cozzi, “Our biggest role will be the marketing of scrap,” although the firm will also provide “operational consulting” concerning O’Brien’s handling and processing of scrap, says Frank.

The Cozzi Consulting Group is a sales and management consulting firm started by former Cozzi Iron & Metal and Metal Management Inc. executive Albert Cozzi and other members of the Cozzi family. The firm specializes in the marketing of scrap metal, paper and plastic.
“We’ve always been of the opinion that it makes sense to do longer-term deals,” with scrap consumers, says Frank Cozzi. “Unfortunately, it hasn’t especially caught on in the marketplace, but it is something we’ll strive to do.”
According to Albert Cozzi, Cozzi Consulting Group “helps manufacturers, demolition contractors, scrap companies and other generators of scrap products maximize the value of their recyclables stream.
