According to local press reports the location is zoned industrial, and any business operating in the area would need a special use permit.
One of the areas that the Commission requested more information on is the impact the yard would have on any groundwater.
Along with a permit from the county, if the project would go ahead they would need a permit from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection.
While the Churchill County Planning Commission will wait for further information from the applicant, a spokeswoman for the county said the company may opt to look at another location in the state to build the yard.
