Perry City Administrator Jon Morrison said the city will build a recycling facility and would like to service rural Dallas County as well as Perry.
The Perry City Council approved spending up to $130,000 for a recycling facility at its last meeting.
Morrison said current city staff would handle the operation.
"We're going to do it and we're hoping you're with us," Morrison said.
Supervisor Julius Little said he would be interested in having the county work with the city of Perry.
Supervisor Marvin Shirley said the the county's strategic plan calls for the county to partner with cities inside the county.
The county currently contracts with Genesis Inc. in Jefferson.
The supervisors agreed to further review the agreement and have it reviewed by the county attorney. A date for continuing discussion had not yet been set. Dallas County News.
