Getting involved with the debris cleanup effort following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will among the topics of discussion at the Construction Materials Recycling Association’s (CMRA) Annual Meeting at the 2006 C&D World Exhibition & Conference to be held Jan. 15-17, in Miami.
The show will include a number of other education sessions addressing current industry issues. Economist Edward Sullivan will speak on the economic outlook for the construction industry. Cecil Jones, of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, will address attendees on concrete and other recycled materials used in the highway environment.
Other topics of discussion include relations for C&D operators, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) take on the C&D market, how to manage a multi-cultural workforce and a panel discussion on equipment.
In addition to the sessions, the show’s exhibit hall will give attendees the opportunity to view some of the industry’s newest products and services.
On Jan. 16, the CMRA Issues & Education Fund will hold its fundraising dinner. The fund promotes the viewpoints of C&D recyclers to legislatures and regulators throughout the country. The dinner is sponsored by LaSalle Bank.
