The Copper Development Association Inc. (CDA), McLean, Virginia, has named Adam Estelle as president and CEO, effective May 1.
Estelle most recently served as CDA vice president and will succeed Andrew Kireta Jr. as the sixth leader of the association.
Estelle’s move to the top executive position follows nearly 16 years with the association. He joined CDA in 2008 and served as project engineer for seven years before becoming the director of rod and bar. In 2022, Estelle became vice president.

According to CDA, Estelle has led numerous strategic initiatives during his tenure, including raising market awareness to the antimicrobial properties of copper, demonstrating the high-speed machining advantages of brass rod and developing new industry datasets and standards to protect the viability of the scrap stream. CDA says Estelle played an instrumental role in the development and implementation of the company’s new subscription-based business model.
“I’m honored and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead the next chapter in CDA’s bright future,” Estelle says. “With a strong team in place, I look forward to sharpening our mission focus, enhancing our member value proposition and strengthening our strategic partnership with the International Copper Association.”
