Companies will provide greater coverage in the South.

Petersburg, Virginia-based Container First Services (CFS), a subsidiary of Waste Services Industries LLC, has completed the acquisition of Mark Dunning Industries (MDI), a hauling company headquartered in Dothan, Alabama.

“Mark Dunning has built a business with a similar service mission to CFS: To help our customers grow their businesses profitably, while achieving affordable sustainability,” says Tim Webb, CFS COO. “We appreciate the strong foundation he has established for us to utilize for expansion.”

MDI, founded in 1980, provides waste and recycling services in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Virginia and New Mexico.

CFS provides industrial, commercial and residential waste and recycling services. The company owns and operates the Tri-Cities Regional Recycle Center and Landfill in Petersburg as well as CFS Disposal and Recycling Services, Lunenburg, Virginia; and CFS, Rice, Virginia.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work together with MDI,” says Rob Guidry, CFS president and CEO. “CFS is looking forward to serving MDI’s customers. CFS’ leadership is homegrown, originally from this area, and we understand the waste and recycle business.

Guidry adds, “Our primary focuses are on customer service, safety and our community. We hope our new customers recognize and embrace our commitment to these ideals. Our sales representatives will be out in the community in the coming weeks to meet our new customers and welcome them to the CFS family.”
