The town of Watertown, Conn., has begun an electronics recycling program during at the transfer station on Old Baird Rd.
According to a report in the Town Times (Watertown, Conn.) residents will be charged based upon the weight of the items to be recycled and none of the collected items will be exported or landfilled.
Accepted items include: computers, televisions, printers, camcorders, cell phones, telephones, keyboards, pagers, CD players, electric typewriters, monitors, fax machines, printers, scanners, laptop computers, microwaves, radios, speakers, cameras, rechargeable batteries and fluorescent light bulbs.
Proof of residency, such as a transfer station sticker, driver's license, tax bill or other identification, is required for entrance, according to the Town Times.
