Concrete Recycling Plant Denied in Illinois

Moline, Ill., city council votes down proposed plant.

 

The city council of Moline, Ill., has rejected a proposal to build a concrete recycling plant in town, according to a report from WQAD-TV, Moline, Ill.

 

The council voted 5 to 3 against the plant.

 

According to the report, the city staff originally recommended approval of the proposal and signed a sales agreement with Miller Leasing LLC. However, the Moline school district, village of Coal Valley and some other local business voiced opposition, citing pollution and traffic concerns.
