Con-Way Logistics, the warehousing and logistics arm of Con-Way Transportation Services Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich., has announced a new warehousing and transportation management assignment from Peterson Pacific Corp.
Peterson, based in Eugene, Ore., is the leading manufacturer and distributor of wood processing and recycling equipment. Con-Way's Mira Loma, Calif., logistics center will inventory, pick, pack and ship critical "machine-down" and spare parts to Peterson dealers and customers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Con-Way will also manage transportation for Peterson.
"Con-Way fits our needs perfectly. We needed state of the art distribution, real-time inventory visibility and improved movement of parts to our users. Con-Way Logistics will physically fulfill the orders and the Con- Way less-than-truckload carriers will significantly reduce the transit times to final delivery. Service to our customers will improve significantly. We will now cover 95 percent of California with next-day delivery service," Will Ettling, Peterson parts manager, says.
