Community Clearinghouse Agency Inc. of
“We already receive computers for recycling and need to expand by acquiring a larger space to process even more computers,” Vega says. “We haven’t advertised too much because of not having the facility to accommodate the need.”
The agency is actively involved in seeking a grant to fund the expansion not only to help the environment but to offer the community a permanent source to drop off the computers.
A pickup service will also become available when the expansion is funded. The amount sought ranges from $125,000 to $150,000. Funds will be used to acquire a warehouse, workshop, tools and equipment and the hiring of two people.
The agency will be recycling computers laptops, accessories, monitors and printers. People can also drop off laptops or computers for refurbishing.
Under this service CCA will be accepting software, memory, windows and licenses, programs, hard drives, burners, DVD and CD drives, as well as other computer related goods. The good news for donors is that whatever they donate they can take a tax deduction including shipping costs, the agency says.
Donated goods can be dropped off or shipped to CCA 7 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster,
