Inter-Source Recovery Systems,
The company provides the appropriate components to move processed chips to a secured holding silo where the weight is monitored. When payload is reached, chips are automatically and rapidly discharged into the awaiting container.
According to Inter-Source, the bulk storage systems free floor space and may even be installed overhead. “This automatic, safe and dry storage reduces labor and handling and eliminates liability issues,” according to a press release from the company.
“More and more customers are remelting their own chips,” William Nemedi, president of Inter-Source, says. “Our system not only allows them to eliminate the tolling feed, but they also eliminate the liability issues associated with hauling to a secondary smelter, while gaining the advantage of raw material control and immediate access.”
For those companies that do not remelt their own chips, the Inter-Source system can also provide benefits by improving hauling efficiencies. “At one installation we routinely offload 40,000 pounds in 20 minutes,” Nemedi says. Additionally, automatic monitoring allows manufacturers to track the weight they’re sending to smelters to verify transactions.
