Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI): The Plastics Industry Trade Association has named Commercial Plastics Recycling (CPR) the official recycling company for the NPE2015 international plastics exposition, to be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
CPR will be responsible for collecting and sorting scrap from equipment operated by exhibitors participating in SPI’s “NPE Recycles” program and recycling the collected material at the company headquarters location in Tampa, Florida.
CPR, headquartered in Tampa, Fla., also has locations in Newton, N.C.; Millwood, W.V.; Little Falls, N.J.; and Bay St. Louis, Miss.
While the NPE Recycles program for NPE2012 handled 260,208 pounds of material, the total for NPE2015 is likely to be even greater, according to Lori Campbell, SPI’s director of trade show operations. “Based on the number and sizes of booths taken at last month’s Space Draw, there will be larger exhibits at NPE2015 and more equipment operating on the show floor.” she says, noting that more than 300 exhibitors thus far say they will be running machinery
“We will remove all of the processing scrap generated by participating exhibitors, from booth setup to the end of the show, and do so with minimal cost to these companies,” says Paul Benvenuti, who is responsible for purchasing and sales at CPR. “To that end, we will work directly with exhibitors to schedule our services, provide more packaging than in the past to facilitate collection and provide more support staff on the show floor.”
