Columbus McKinnon, a manufacturer of systems for shredding scrap tires, announces that it has sold a new passenger tire shredder to Lakin Tire West, Inc., Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
The system sold is the second one for the Lakin Tire West facility, and the fifth CM unit sold to Lakin. The system sold has a 200 horsepower motor. It will allow the company to increase the production capacity of two-inch tire chips for the market. The unit sold by CM was configured with a narrower knife design, allowing Lakin Tire West to regrind and reuse knives from the original CM machine into the new machine, lowering the knife costs.
