Colorado Governor Reappoints Alpine Executive

Alpine Waste & Recycling CFO to serve another three-year term on state's Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission.

Alpine Waste & Recycling, Commerce City, Colo., has announced CFO Alek Orloff , has been appointed by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper to serve another three-year term on Colorado’s Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission.
The panel, established in 1992, was enacted to ensure the state’s hazardous waste rules are consistent with the U.S. EPA’s requirements, preserving Colorado’s authorization and federal funds, and that the rules governing solid waste disposal sites are protective of human health and the environment. It is a branch of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Orloff says, “My participation on this commission allows me to serve the State of Colorado and complements Alpine Waste & Recycling’s commitment to environmental stewardship. It is a rewarding assignment, and I am grateful to Gov. Hickenlooper for the continued opportunity.”

The Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission is comprised of nine gubernatorial appointees: three members from industry, three members from the public at large and three members from government or academia. The commission adopts rules pertaining to solid and hazardous waste and hears appeals on administrative penalties for hazardous waste matters.
