David Serls, CEO of Colonial Metals Co., a Columbia, Pennsylvania, brass and bronze ingot manufacturer, has announced that Michael Mann is retiring from the company after 45 years of service, including the last 12 years as Colonial's president. He will officially step down from this post in early June 2015 but will stay on as an advisor and a member of the company’s board of directors.

Serls says Craig Friedman, who has worked for the company since 1989 and has served for the last 12 years as executive vice president, will replace Mann as president. He adds that Friedman has participated in all phases of Colonial’s growth and has been serving as president and chief operating officer since March 2015.

Friedman also will remain as a director of Colonial’s board and direct all phases of sales, purchasing and manufacturing.

In naming him to the position, Serls says as executive vice president, Friedman’s influence has brought the company to be one of the top five brass and bronze ingot makers in the country.

“Craig’s abilities and talents have earned him the respect of Colonial’s customers, suppliers, shareholders and employees alike,” Serls says.
