Coll Materials, a plastics recycler based in Zanesville, Ohio, has launched a shredding line to its recycling operation. The company says the addition of the shredder allows it to process purge and increases overall throughput.

| (L to R) General Manager Ryan Morrow, Vice President of Procurement Susan Bieterman, and Regional Account Manager Tom Quinn examine HDPE material at three stages: purge, shred, and regrind flake. Coll’s purchasing team buys HDPE, PET, PP, TPO, and ABS in all forms. |
“We are working continuously to find ways to better serve the recycling industry, and our shredder will open up doors for our purchasing department to bring in more material,” says CEO Brian Coll. “We were eager to recycle purge, and now we are able buy our own purge and toll process this material.”
Coll Materials is a post-consumer and post-industrial plastic recycler based in Zanesville, OH. This shredder joins five recycling lines and a wash line in Coll’s 150,000 square foot facility.
In April 2009, Coll Materials acquired Regrind Services, a plastic recycler based out of Detroit, Mich. Currently all operations have been relocated to Ohio, with regional purchasing managers working out of multiple areas in the US.
The company says additional expansion plans include bringing on a second wash line within the next quarter. “Our second wash line will be used to supply our customers with additional clean post consumer regrind flake, as well as to toll wash material for our customers,” says vice president of sales and marketing Renée Coll.
