Coll Materials, based in Zanesville, Ohio, has begun production on its new wash line, allowing the company to recycle post consumer plastics.

Brian Coll, CEO of the company, began Coll Materials Exchange, LLC brokering plastic materials for plastic recyclers from his home office in Cambridge, OH. Six months later, the company expanded to include a small plastic recycling operation. Coll Materials then leased a building in Byesville, OH to house two small plastic recycling lines and warehouse both raw and finished materials. In April of 2009 Coll Materials acquired another plastic recycling company, Regrind Services, a Detroit-based recycler that has been in operation for 14 years.
Over this past summer, the company consolidated two facilities by purchasing a 150,000 square foot plant in Zanesville. The facility houses five recycling lines, including two new Cumberland granulators, to process the plastic scrap for re-use or re-sale.
"Our corporate mission is to become a leader in the plastics industry, providing our customers with sustainable solutions that help to keep material costs low and protect the environment. The relocation brings us one step closer in accomplishing this goal," Coll said.
"This new centralized location will serve as our corporate headquarters as well as house our recycling operations, provide ample warehousing space, and a quality laboratory. Our recycling lines will be running three shifts, five days a week, giving Coll Materials the capacity to run 100 million pounds of recycled resin annually. We are now able to offer expanded services including: buying and selling of resins, toll grinding, toll washing, and a knockdown repair program and material testing."
"The addition of our completely refurbished washline allows the company to take in post consumer fractional melt HDPE to recycle, wash, and sell for reuse – keeping plastic out of landfills," said Vice President of Sales Renée Coll. "We’re very excited about this capability and the effect it’s going to have on our community."
