Eriez Manufacturing Co., Erie, Pa., has announced the availability of a vibratory feeder tray capacity calculator.

The handheld tool features two slide rulers, which users can adjust to reflect their application variables to establish the capacity of a known feeder tray, or select the proper size feeder tray for a given capacity.

Instructions for using the capacity calculator require the user to first set the material flow rate at its density. Then, without moving the upper slide, the feeder tray capacity should be set at the appropriate index. And last, users read through the trough widths against flow depths to determine the correct size feeder tray needed.

To find the capacity of an existing installation, reverse the second and third steps, says Eriez.
