Coastal Wire Co., Georgetown, South Carolina, has made several management changes within its organization.
The company promoted Douglas P. Wendel Jr. as its chairman and chief executive officer. Wendel started with Coastal Wire in January 2001. During his 19-year tenure, he has worked in many departments at the company, including plant production, plant management, sales, finance, purchasing and most recently in the capacity as president and CEO. He came to the company from the banking industry where he gained experience in several areas, including branch management, loan administration, commercial lending and mortgage banking. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on marketing from the University of South Carolina in 1992.
Coastal Wire also promoted Jason N. Hendrix to serve as its president. Hendrix joined the company in July 2004 and has served as the company’s chief financial officer during that 15-year period. In his role, he has managed finance, accounting, information technology (IT) and purchasing functions. He came to Coastal Wire from the software industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and management science from the University of South Carolina in 1992 and later received his Master of International Business Studies from the same university in 1996.
Additionally, the company promoted Tonda Bailey as its director of business services. Bailey joined Coastal Wire in May 2009 and has worked as a controller for that 10-year time span. She has more than 21 years of experience in accounting, finance, human resources and payroll. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Augusta State University in 2003.
Coastal Wire Co. was founded in 1978 by Michael and Janice Coward. The business focuses on low carbon wire production, serving the recycling and brite basic wire consuming industries.
