The Secretariat of Environment of the Mexican state of Coahuila will reportedly carry out a paper collection and recycling campaign, emulating an efforts that has taken place in the state’s largest city of Saltillo.
An online article on the Monterrey-based Grupo Milenio website says the campaign will be similar to one that has been conducted in the Mexican state of Saltillo, with a goal of collecting as much material as possible.
The secretariat says it will work with universities and companies to help them provide and operate collection centers. Also part of the effort will be paper producer Bio-Pappel, based in the neighboring state of Durango.
Eglantina Canales Gutiérrez, governor of Coahuila, is quoted by Grupo Milenio as calling Bio-Pappel’s mill “one of the most important factories in Mexico [that] unites the collection effort with recycling.”
