The Centre for Management Technology (CMT) will be hosting a conference that addresses the opportunities for recycled PET plastics throughout Latin America.
The 9th LAPET (Latin America PET Packaging Markets) conference in Mexico City Oct. 19-20 seeks to spotlight regional opportunities, trends for recycled PET and the various challenges affecting PET packaging markets in Latin America
In promoting the conference, CMT says that the meeting is the largest gathering for PET suppliers and buyers in the Latin America region. A key presentation at the conference, CMT notes, will be a session by Coca Cola de Mexico that discusses methods of processing recycled PET, its challenges and considerations to ensure good quality PCR bottles.
The event will also hear a presentation by Nextek Ltd. that addresses developments in recycled PET and challenges for its applications in juice and water. LAPET also will hear a presentation by Netstal (http://www.netstal.com/home/?L=0) on advances in milk packaging.
Other topics to be covered during the conference include the following:
- Types of new bio-based feedstock/PET available in the market.
- Emerging opportunities in new growth areas like Cuba, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
