CMC Recycling Adds Roberts to Staff

Metallurgist worked for more than a decade at Chaparral Steel.

The CMC Recycling Division of Commercial Metals Co. (CMC), Irving, Texas, has hired Darrell Roberts as a ferrous scrap trader.

 

Prior to joining CMC, Roberts worked for eleven years with Chaparral Steel in raw materials management at both its Petersburg, Va., and its Midlothian, Texas, facilities.

 

Roberts has been an active member of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) for several years and currently serves as president of its Gulf Coast Chapter.

 

 “We are very pleased to have an individual with Darrell’s experience and expertise join our ferrous scrap sales group, as well being confident that his abilities will significantly enhance our marketing effort,” says Dale Schmelzle, General Manager of CMC Recycling.

 

Roberts graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and Economics in 1995 and a MS in Metallurgical Engineering in 1996, all from the University of Missouri-Rolla in Rolla, Mo.
