Commercial Metals Co., (CMC) Irving, Texas, has announced that Barbara Smith will assume the role of senior vice president and chief financial officer for the company, effective June 1, 2011. She will report to Joe Alvarado, president and COO. In this position, Smith will have the responsibility for all the company’s financial functions.
Prior to joining CMC, Smith was the vice president and CFO for Gerdau Ameristeel in Tampa, Fla. She also served as senior vice president and CFO for FARO Technologies Inc., Orlando, Fla.
