Clearpoint Recycling, a recycled materials trading firm based in Harrogate, England, has launched its Certified Broker Scheme.

The system allows independent traders and brokers to access Clearpoint's infrastructure pertaining to compliance, logistics and financial stability that it has been able to build as a multimillion-dollar company.

Clearpoint cites facility closures, cheap imports and legislative delays as among the challenges facing the recycling industry that create acute vulnerabilities for smaller trading houses.

By joining its system, independent brokers will receive access to more supply and customer opportunities across U.K. and international markets, according to Clearpoint.

The company says its Certified Broker Scheme offers users “simple, seamless systems with no complicated forms or platforms to learn, a guaranteed income for every verified listing, full visibility of available materials via Clearpoint’s broker-friendly marketplace, and the reassurance of trading with an established company that understands and values the broker’s role in the supply chain.”

“We’re seeing businesses failing daily, margins tightening and cash flow under strain,” Clearpoint Recycling founder Will Lee says. “The risks for small independent brokers have never been greater. The market needs a revamp and we’re here to help, which is why we have launched the Certified Broker Scheme to give brokers the tools and support they need to survive and succeed in this evolving market.

“Brokers are a vital part of our industry. We know their value because we are brokers too. We want to help them do more business, in a safer and more profitable way. The Certified Broker Scheme keeps brokers at the heart of every deal, while removing the risks that come with going it alone. This initiative ensures brokers can trade with confidence, knowing they have the support and infrastructure of Clearpoint behind them.”

The launch of the Certified Broker Scheme follows by about five months of Clearpoint Recycling’s partnership with Enviroo, a U.K.-based polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling business.

“The onboarding process was very simple and the Clearpoint team guided us throughout," says Kamil Walczak of Poland-based brokerage firm Profitrash, who has been a pilot test user. "We were able to get up and running immediately and saw revenues increase in the first month.”

Clearpoint Recycling trades several grades of plastic, recovered paper, metal and glass as secondary commodities it trades.
