City Carton Recycling purchased the recycling assets of Paper Recovery Co., a Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based facility.
PRC, in business for about 30 years, processes old corrugated containers, office paper and old newspaper for commercial, industrial and business customers.
City Carton’s Cedar Rapids facility will now service PRC’s customers. The purchase includes an HRB baler, recycling containers and other recycling-related equipment.
“In purchasing PRC, the City Carton Cedar Rapids facility will be able to incorporate PRC’s monthly tons of recyclable material into our current operation. We plan to continue, expand and improve the tradition of excellent recycling services, said Andy Ocenfels, City Carton’s vice president of operations.
City Carton also operates Document Destruction and Recycling Services. The company also processes recyclable materials at seven recycling facilities in Iowa.
The acquisition was completed June 1, and included accounts and the equipment. The business was moved to City Carton’s Cedar Rapids location, which recently underwent an expansion, said Ockenfels.Latest from Recycling Today
