The ESG in Manufacturing Summit was July 29-31 in Denver. London-based Leap HR organized the event, which is in its second year.
"Our participation at the ESG in Manufacturing Summit is more than a commitment to sustainability—it's a proactive move to forge pathways that others can follow, ensuring a resilient and sustainable manufacturing future," Shapiro Chief Operating Officer and President Bob Alvarez says.
Circular by Shapiro helps drive industrial sustainability for its clients, advocating for reducing waste and enhancing resource efficiency through innovative recycling technologies and data-driven insights, according to the company, which began as a traditional metal recycler and now leverages 120 years of expertise to fuel new methodologies and collaborations with manufacturers. This mission has found Shapiro venturing into software and data to empower clients with sustainability program management solutions.
Circular by Shapiro is one of three recently formed divisions at Shapiro Metals. The other two are its core industrial scrap management business and Master Alloys, which produces recycled aluminum sow and ingot. The division provides dashboards to its clients that simplify environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) reporting.
"Our journey reflects our relentless pursuit of innovation and our commitment to tomorrow," says Nick Muschong, chief revenue officer at Shapiro. "We've transformed challenges into stepping stones, positioning Circular by Shapiro as a thought leader in the circular economy sphere."

SENNEBOGEN 340G telehandler improves the view in Macon County, NC
An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).
Circular by Shapiro embraces an integrated circular model, ensuring economic viability and environmental stewardship, the company says. By participating in the summit, the company aims to inspire attendees to evaluate their programs for efficient processes, consolidating data into a single portal rather than managing multiple spreadsheets with substandard information from various vendors.
