Baiyin Non-Ferrous Metals Co. of China will expand its main aluminum smelter, almost tripling annual capacity
The company's Baiyin Ibis Aluminum smelter will have an annual 150,000-metric-ton refined aluminum capacity when expansion is completed this year, up from 56,000 tons now.
China's annual aluminum production capacity will rise 23 percent in 2002 to 5.26 million tons by year-end, the paper said.
