Chinese Aluminum Smelters Cutting Output

Move follows cuts taken last year to cool down metal.

Seventeen Chinese aluminum smelters have announced capacity and production cuts amounting to 335,000 metric tons a year as part of a plan to reduce capacity and soften raw material prices.

 

According to the Business Times, in addition to the 17, 23 aluminum smelters agreed to cut production by 10 percent last year as a step to reduce raw material prices.
