Chemical Recycling Europe (CRE) has reelected Carlos Monreal, founder and CEO of London-based Plastic Energy, as CRE president for the next two years. Monreal was reelected during CRE's general assembly held Dec. 1.

According to a news release from CRE, Monreal plans to continue the work done this year within CRE and increase the collaboration among members through CRE’s three groups dedicated to communications, policy and technology. Monreal also intends to ramp up efforts to engage key external stakeholders and decision-makers in the plastics industry.

“I am delighted that our association members have put their confidence in me to lead CRE for another term,” Monreal says. “The next two years will be critical for our industry and I look forward to working with our members with a diverse range of chemical recycling technologies to contribute to a circular economy for Europe."

During the General Assembly, Jasper Munier from Clariter, was confirmed as treasurer and Kate Ringier from Agilyx, was confirmed as a new board member.
