CFF Recycling Purchases Belgium Scrap Company

CFF Recycling, a French recycling company, recently increased its ownership stake in LMR from 50 percent to 100 percent by purchasing the remaining shares in the company. LMR is a holding company based in Belgium that has three facilities in the country. LMR is a subsidiary of Almetal. Its primary interests are controlling stakes in Inofrance, a recycling operation that specializes in stainless steel; and George, a recycling company based in Liege.

The three facilities under the LMR umbrella handle around 300,000 metric tons of scrap metal a year. LMR reported sales last year of $100 million.

The acquisitions will add to CFF’s European presence. The company already has a significant presence throughout Western Europe. Additionally, the company has a presence in North America. CFF also has an operation in Mexico.
