The Polish government, seeking to privatize many companies, reports that it has received bids by six companies interested in purchasing the government’s shares of the Polish scrap metal recycling firm Centrozlom Wroclaw. At the present time the government owns 100 percent of the shares in the company.
The Polish Ministry of the Treasury set a deadline of Nov. 27 for companies to bid on the company. It is expected to decide on the winning bid by the middle of December.
The company handles both ferrous and nonferrous metals. It owns and operates nine facilities throughout the country.
According to published reports, companies that have bid on shares of Centrozlom Wroclaw include Stalprodukt, KGHM Polish Copper Ecoren, CMC Zawiercie, Celsa Ostrowiec, Energopol-Poludnie and TSR Recycling.
