Cell Phone Recycler Opens California Office

Company hopes to take advantage of California legislation mandating collection of cell phones.

RMS Communications Group Inc. is bringing its cellular phone recycling program to California. The company pays cash for used cell phones that would otherwise lay idle or end up in landfills.

Independent contractors can collect cell phones and then sell them to RMS.

RMS Communications operates three web sites where people can go to find out how to trade their cell phones for money. The sites are the following: www.cellforcash.com (for consumers), www.wirelessfundraiser.com (for non-profit groups), and www.tradeinwireless.com (for wireless dealers).

As background, the state of California just passed legislation mandating cell phone companies take back all obsolete cell phones by 2006.

“Our company is looking forward to working with Californians as they comply with this new law and find responsible ways of getting rid of their old cell phones,” said James Mosieur, RMS Communications’ CEO.
