California communities are setting a precedent for what happens with C&D debris through diversion requirements, facility audits and other practices that could be coming soon to a city near you.
The C&D Recycling Forum, Sept. 23-25, 2012, in Long Beach, Calif., will bring attendees up to speed and offer advice on what their communities can be doing to increase diversion rates for C&D materials by hearing about the programs already underway in California. Speakers include:
- Richard Ludt of tenant improvement, demolition and recycling company, Interior Removal Specialists, South Gate, Calif., who will moderate as well as provide an update on state regulatory requirements;
- Heidi Sanborn of the California Product Stewardship Council, who will inform attendees on the efforts her organization is making to increase recycling and use of recycled content products in projects throughout the state;
- Greg Dick of the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), who will share what efforts the state agency is making toward its recycling goals; and
- Carol Parker of the city of Los Angeles, who will share the successes of that city’s C&D debris recycling program.
Find out why California has been a pioneer of instituting policies surrounding the recycling of C&D debris. This is just one of several sessions geared specifically toward those who handle C&D debris.
