Caterpillar, Peoria, Illinois, has introduced the new D2 Series loaders: the 272D2 skid steer loader, the 297D2 multiterrain loader and the 299D2 compact track loader.
The company says the three new loaders offer the following features:
- More powerful XHP counterparts build on engineering advances in performance, operator comfort, visibility, control and machine security of predecessor models
- Standard exclusive Caterpillar heads-up advanced display
- New engine-compartment sealing system for enhanced airflow debris control
- Increases in rated operating capacity for non-XHP models; XHP models maintain their ROC numbers without external counterweights
- All models feature a vertical-lift loader linkage and use a Cat C3.8 engine meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final/EU Stage IV emissions standards
- In addition to providing a theft deterrent system, the Advanced Display accommodates up to 50 operator security codes
- Full-color, 5-inch LCD monitor enables on-screen adjustment of implement response, hydrostatic drive response, creep control speed, ride control activation speed, language preference and gauge layout selection
- Available rearview camera displaying high resolution images is standard on the XHP models
- Increases in Rated Operating Capacity of up to 8 percent, the D2 Series models provide excellent lifting performance for heavy loads and/or handling larger hydro-mechanical work tools
- Sealing around the rear engine enclosure and cooling package is now standard for all D2 models. The standard sealing package provides enhanced protection against material ingestion in applications with a high volume of airborne debris
- Hydraulically driven demand fan operates only when required, saving fuel and reducing sound levels
- A one-piece sealed and pressurized cab, electro-hydraulic controls, premium seat choices, lift arms, available electric work-tool coupler, and available intelligent leveling features
- Steel track option is ideal for customers requiring improved traction due to challenging underfoot conditions with high concentrations of protruding objects and/or using heavy work tools, working on slopes and/or working near transitions.
