Cash’s Scrap Metal Attains ISO Certification

Missouri company one of only a few scrap recyclers to receive quality standard certification.

Cash’s Scrap Metal & Iron, Corp. was recently presented with its ISO 9001:2000 certificate from Intertek Systems Certification, the quality management systems business unit of Intertek Labtest. The certification affirms that Cash’s St. Louis operation adheres to the internationally recognized quality standards.

After ten months of planning and implementation, Cash’s Scrap Metal & Iron joins only four percent of U.S. recycling operations that have certified their QMS to ISO 9001:2000 Industry Standard.

Stuart Block, president of Cash’s, says, “Our industry creates a product just like other manufacturers, so to implement a Quality Management System allows us the ability to take a closer look at our systems and procedures and fine tune our abilities to become a more efficient and managed recycling operation. We have always strived to be a quality leader in the recycling industry and achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification validates that we have the process controls in place to provide an ongoing service our customers can depend on.
