Casella Waste Systems, Inc. announced that Ontario County received a modification to the county's existing permit for the operation of the landfill in Seneca, NY, increasing the annual permit to 917,694 tons per year from 612,000 tons per year.
In announcing the approval of the expansion facility, John Casella, CEO of the company, noted that the Ontario facility is presently processing about 40,000 tons per year of recyclables at its single-stream recycling facility. Further, the company is beneficiating about 30,000 tons per year of mixed broken glass.
