Cascades Closing Folding Carton Plant

Canadian paper company shutting carton plant this fall.

Cascades Inc. will shut its folding carton plant near Toronto next fall and transfer production to six other plants.

Cascades said production will be transferred over a six-month period to facilities in Montreal and Lachute, Quebec, Cobourg and Mississauga, Ontario, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Hebron, Kentucky.

The plant, located in Scarborough, Ont., converts coated boxboard into folding cartons. The plant is expected to officially close by the end of this October.
