Carl Smith, president and CEO of Atlanta-based Call2Recycle, has announced plans to retire in 2021. Call2Recycle is a small group of battery manufacturers leading a national stewardship organization that champions the responsible end-of-life management of more than 171 million pounds of batteries.

According to a news release from Call2Recycle, Smith has served with Call2Recycle for 10 years. In recent years, the organization has reinforced its commitment by expanding its battery collection and recycling program to include a broad range of related services.

“We look forward to celebrating Carl’s significant contributions to Call2Recycle and appreciate his ongoing stewardship while the board embarks on a national search to identify his successor,” Call2Recycle states regarding Smith’s retirement.
