The Canadian Association of Recycling Industries (CARI) has scheduled a safety seminar for Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in Toronto. The event will feature presentations from John Gilstrap, the Director of Safety of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI).
According to CARI, “The seminar will cover safety as a management opportunity; setting goals and charting progress; work rules, progressive discipline and employee incentives; and safety inspections and self-assessment.”
The CARI Safety Seminar takes place at the Toronto Marriott Airport Hotel from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on March 9.
“The day is specifically designed for owners and managers in scrap recycling companies—those who have the authority to make changes,” states CARI in its news release announcing the seminar.
John Gilstrap has been in the safety field for 28 years, providing safety and health guidance not only to the recycling industry but also to the explosives processing, chemical weapons, hazardous waste and automotive service industries.
More information on the event and the registration process can be obtained from Donna Turner of CARI at (905) 426-9313.
