The board of directors of Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE), Dalton, Ga., has named Robert Peoples executive director of the industry-led coalition involved in carpet recycling efforts. Peoples replaces Georgina Sikorski, who left the association in May, 2012.
"Dr. Peoples' experience in sustainability, the carpet industry and the CARE organization itself make him the ideal choice," says Werner Braun, CARE’s board chairman and president of the Carpet and Rug Institute.
Peoples currently serves as executive director of the American Chemistry Society's Green Chemistry Institute. He also served as CARE's first executive director, holding the post from 2004-2008.
